We write "camel" in the picture, but it is a dromedary. And nope, "camel" does not mean also "dromedary". -- Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.105.207.25 (talk) 09:50, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Per Camel, "The one-humped dromedary makes up 94% of the world's camel population". And the original file had two humps, but there is such a thing as artistic license which was used to make it one hump with "camelCase" cleverly written on it. I find your argument unconvincing. Example of Tibetan language

[edit]

"In Tibetan proper names like rLobsang, the "r" stands for a prefix glyph in the original script that functions as tone marker rather than a normal letter."

As far as I know, there is no Tibetan proper name transliterated rLobsang, but there is the name བློ་བཟང་, transliterated to blo bzang in Wylie transliteration, which is sometimes written bLo bzang to mark the root letter of the first word. 2A02:8388:A02:9B00:8772:D5AB:16B6:6DA5 (talk) 14:04, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Examples of camel case?

[edit]

Aren't examples like YouTube and FedEx PascalCase, not CamelCase? Didlidoo (talk) 03:10, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

They are all cited, take it up with the authors. Per this article, PascalCase is a type of CamelCase so they are not mutually exclusive. Mathnerd314159 (talk) 19:37, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology of words

[edit]

Is there any evidence or knowledge when the different terms like "Camel case" or "Pascal case" came up?

I grew up in computer science in the 90s and 2000s with the term "camel case", and just learned from a younger developer what "Pascal case" is about. I did not know the term until now and assume it was introduced in the last 10 years or so? Dostl ba (talk) 15:50, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion of camel case is in the article, I added a section header to make it more obvious. For Pascal case, https://learn.microsoft.com/sv-se/archive/blogs/brada/history-around-pascal-casing-and-camel-casing suggests it came sometime around 2002.
