What does the long discussion of US racial discrimination against African-Americans have to do with immigration?

[edit]

Shouldn’t an article regarding immigrants be restricted to, well, a discussion of immigrants? What does the long discussion of US racial discrimination against African-Americans - few of whom are immigrants per se - have to do with the topic at hand?
